Reflection

I understand how to use more of the filters in photoshop and see how the colors would work with each other. Overall, I’ve learned how to use adjustments in Photoshop and understand how contrast and colors would make the overall composition look more fluid.

Feedback: All the compositions are good, lets choose the 3rd composition.

Final Composition

Figure 5 Final Digital Composition

The final composition marked a significant improvement over my first two attempts. I aimed to design a new creature by transforming the fish's tail and fins, giving it a fresh, unique form. To make the vibrant blue jellyfish stand out, I added a textured black background, enhancing the contrast and overall visual impact.

The area where the black texture didn't fully cover felt a bit empty, so I decided to introduce a more fluid texture to fill the space. For the orange texture, I avoided the spiky look I had used in previous compositions, opting instead to incorporate a few organic, cut-out shapes for a softer, more natural feel.

Final Best Composition

In this composition, I wanted to make an aesthetic composition where I extracted the image of a fish tail and fins to make an alien-like jellyfish. The background was slightly empty when it was just a black and white background so I added some flowing orange texture lines for a difference in contrast compared to the blue jellyfishes. I’ve learned how to use the pen tool to extract certain parts of an image and other simple tools.

After Adjustment Layers & Filters

For this composition, I wanted the colors and hues to seem more cohesive with each other. I used the curves to adjust the lightness and how deep I wanted the color of the jellyfishes to look to give a sense of depth in the composition. The previous orange textured lines were changed in hues to make it more dynamic. Lastly for the black and white background, I adjusted the black to be slightly darker in contrast by turning down the gamma and exposure.
