Instructions

He told us to refer to our senior's work for our Task 3. For this assignment, we would have to create a auditory storytelling video where we have to narrate a story and edit our own SFX.

It took me some time deciding what type of story to go for. My friend suggested that I should try going for children's storybooks since it's short and does portray a lot in a short amount of time.

I followed their advice and searched for some children's storybooks. Instead of choosing a kids cartoon show, I chose Monsters, Inc.

I created a google doc to list down all my audios.

After that, I imported everything into Adobe Audition and edited my voice lines first. Then I moved on to adding the SFX and background ambience.

This is the final outcome of tracks for the audio in Adobe Audition.

After finishing the tracks and exporting the mixdown, I switched to Adobe Premiere Pro to start adding in my screenshots from the storybook. Using the final audio as a guide, it was pretty quick.

This is the final video editing.

Feedback

Week 9

He said it was good, however, I should be careful on the output of the volumes.

Week 10

He approved of my narration and told me to try reducing the bass of my voice so it doesn't feel overpowering. He also mentioned that I should include panning when I edit my audios.

Reflection

This assignment was absolutely fun to do. I love voice acting which was included in the assignment. I received some advices from my course mate and my tutor which helped me improve my audio editing. I did have problems with Adobe Audition where it would lag a lot which delayed my process a lot. It took some time but I managed to pull through fighting against the lag and Adobe Audition not responding and completed the audio. The rest of the editing went smoothly especially editing on Premiere Pro. Overall, though I wished I could've found more SFX for the final parts, I'm proud of my final outcome.
