Final Project

For this project, we were given the freedom to create anything we wanted as long as we utilise motion graphics in it.

I paired up with my previous group mate, Loh Kai Xuan, and we came up with 2 ideas. The first was about the latest movie Frankenstein while the 2nd idea was about Kung Fu Panda.

We consulted with our tutor on what he thinks and he liked both ideas and let us decide what to choose as the final. We ended up choosing Frankenstein and proceeded to make the storyboard.

I drew out the thumbnails of the storyboard and after that, my group mate would turn it into an animatic.

Here is the animatic.

Animating Process

First off, I edited the colors so it looks more saturated and have less exposure and manually removed all the background of the images. After my groupmate added the sticks on the characters, it was finally time to start on the animation.

I separated the imported files to 4 scenes so it would be easier to edit. After that, I compiled all of the scenes into act 1 of the first part and transferred it to my groupmate to compile her part of the animation.

Feedback

Week 12

Mr. Fauzi recommended going for the movie recap as it has more motion.

Week 13

Looks good. You may proceed accordingly.

Reflection

During this assignment, it was great being able to choose whatever theme we wanted to make for our final project. Though it was quite hard to settle on a topic, we managed to decide on a topic, the Frankenstein movie. After choosing, we thought of ways to come up with what to do for the topic and came up with making a short nutshell of the movie. We met up to make the puppets and laughed a lot making them. I also enjoyed editing the scenes too. Overall, the project was really nice and I learned a lot in editting on After Effects.
